At CLS, we are committed to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operations. We recognize our responsibility to positively impact the environment, society, and governance practices. Through a range of initiatives, we strive to create lasting value for our stakeholders while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Environment

At the heart of our environmental efforts is our commitment to sustainable practices. Showcasing our dedication to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Our Corporate office in Colombo, Sri Lanka is housed in the First LEED PLATINUM Office Complex building in Sri Lanka, under LEED New Constructions from the US Green Building Council.

Furthermore, we are a part of the MARESSOL Project, an initiative to collect and recycle Abandoned, Lost and Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG), around the Mannar region, where we leverage our expertise as logistics consultants to promote sustainable transportation solutions. Additionally, we take proactive measures to assess and minimize our carbon footprint, ensuring that our operations align with global sustainability goals.

Social

Empowering communities and fostering social development are integral to our mission at CLS. Through initiatives such as the SMILES Scholarship Program, we provide educational opportunities to children of underprivileged families, enabling them to pursue their dreams and create a brighter future. We also have implemented the ‘CLS Friends’ initiative, a in- house staff welfare program that looks at providing short and long-term financial assistance to our people at times of need. Furthermore, we also work with the Foundation of Goodness (FoG) offering educational empowerment scholarships, helping children in rural communities gain access to education.

Governance

Maintaining the highest standards of governance is fundamental to our business practices. We have implemented robust policies, including an Anti-corruption Policy (outlined in our Employee Handbook – Section 17) and a Whistle-blower Policy (outlined in our Employee Handbook – Section 8). These policies underscore our zero-tolerance approach to unethical behaviour and ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity across all levels of our organization.
